One Outs Strikes Out

And with that, my weekly must-watch list is reduced to one. Major.

This scene reminds me of a certain someone

One Outs has been a really enjoyable 25 weeks. I’m haven’t watched too many sports anime, and with the exception of Eyeshield 21, all that I’ve watched has been Baseball.

With my limited exposure to sports anime, One Outs is definitely one of a kind. Sure, I’ve watched hardcore Mahjong death matches, or gambling games where the player self-operates his own ear in an attempt for victory. But sports and gambling blended together in “Will it blend?”? You may be able to list some other series, but to me, that’s a novelty.

While we all know that Tokuchi never faces defeat, just like Akagi, it’s not his victory I’m looking forward to each time the Lycaons are in a pinch. Rather, I’m interested in finding out how he gets the team out of the mess. Pitching guesses as to how his magic touch works while the show runs on, every episode has the feel similar to that of Akagi and Kaiji.

It’s quite a pity that the series ends at merely 25 episodes. With the last few episodes getting a slightly slowing down, the satisfaction derived isn’t fully there. In fact, I felt a sense of disappointment when the last episode ended without much of an impact. Now, I’m just hoping for a new season or even an OVA continuation. There should be more than enough material in the manga for that to be realised.

I’m going to miss my weekly One Outs dosage

Anyway, back to my weekly watch list, it’s pretty pathetic. Somewhere on my way, I dropped Rideback and Kurokami. Fortunately, with Spring’s arrival, I’ll be picking up some new series, namely K-ON!, the new Full Metal Alchemist and Cross Game.

K-On! seems comedical and light-hearted, and there’s music, so why not? FMA’s previous season got really boring for me halfway, so I dropped it. I’m not sure if I should even be watching season 2 since I left the last few episodes of the first season untouched. As for Cross Game, 3 words. Baseball, Adachi Mitsuru.

That’s my season plan as of now. I think there’s something wrong with me.  Everything else doesn’t really seem to appeal to me, and I certainly don’t want to waste time watching a couple of episodes only to have to drop the series later, just like I did for Rideback and Kurokami.

Any other Spring recommendations so that I can splurge my time on anime instead of doing other beneficial stuff such as studying and doing assignments?

one outs was so cute right???
although the giant black woman was a slight bit mentally disturbing at some points…
well, I think you should watch ookiku furikabutte! It’s very passionate (I guess) and has a great ending.
You should try watching the FMA movie while your at it.

Kurtz > Yup I already stated that I’m going to be watching that.

Hee Jin > Cute would be the last thing on my mind when it comes to One Outs. Why would you describe it in such a way?

Also, I’ve watched both shows that you’ve mentioned.

If u liked Kaiji, u should try Gantz. Same…thrill of what`s next :)

Personally, i think Cross Game is a ripoff of Major . Allmost identic storyline, and whouldn`t you know it, the kid can pitch even if he brakes his arms :) Same as Major :) Unstopabble Hulk, upps, picher :)
As for One outs, simply brilliant. I came to admire His mind, to worship it :) ( The evil inside me still wonders if in a game, if he loses one bet, whould that cause a chain reaction makeing him a mindless zombie by the end of the game? Evil i tell you, pure evil ).
