I currently own a Sennheiser HD515 so maybe this would turn out to be a nice update of my audio gear (in addition to making me look like a total K-ON! fan, which I am) but I don’t know if it’s the right time to buy a headphone set since I’m planning to buy a second computer.

It should cost less than 300 bucks and the sound is pretty good. Also, the noise cancellation is sweet.
Thanks for the recommendation! From the reviews I’ve googled, ANC7 looks like a superb buy. The only two flies in the ointment that keep coming up though are the bass and sound leakage. Do any of these alleged problems bothered you?
My experience with the ANC7 was only with a test set. The sound leakage wasn’t too bad, and the bass, while not superb, is quite decent. At least for me. From what I know, Audio Technica doesn’t really have as much to offer in the bass department when you pit them against other competitors.
I can’t help but laugh at the Japanese who fall for it, because that same pair is only $280 on the US Amazon site.

yup japan seems to have really overpriced K701.
maybe they should have shown Mio using Sony MDR-CD900ST since they seem to be so common in recording studios.
