This band has been the cold rain that has been pouring down on me. 凛として時雨 (Ling Toshite Sigure).

The refreshing chills sent down my spine and throughout my body, they are awesome.
Before I begin, listen to these.
I’m not one who excels at put down the feelings I get from the music I hear into words, and I really fail at describing whatever I get from music that just blows my mind. But I’ll try.
Most of the music that I’ve been listening to is either Jpop or Jrock that lies on the softer side of the scale. While I’ve discovered a fair share of artistes (Bump of Chicken, Radwimps) with music that I can totally immerse myself into upon the first listening, I’ve to admit that the remainder of what I listen to is mostly music that can be classified as easy listening and not described as refreshingly mind-blowing.
凛として時雨 can simply be described as a force of raw power. Listening to their sound feels hypes me up. The guitar and bass are ecstasy to the ears, the drums really hit the spot. The vocals mostly consist of wails and shrills from both genders.

It’s the kind of vocals that one either likes or hates. Strangely, as a person who listens a lot for lyrics, I actually like the vocals even though it’s pretty much impossible for me to catch the lyrics sung most of the time. I’m guessing it’s because the vocals blend naturally with the instruments.
just A moment, 凛として時雨’s 3rd full-sized album was recently released. Not knowing anything about them beforehand, I blindly plunged into their world of sound, and was captivated by it. I now desire a copy of their album.
Being drenched from head to toe in awesomeness has an indescribable feel.

Makes a nice change to the endless torrent of visual kei bands. A slightly more indie version of their sound is popular at the moment in the UK - I’d recommend Blood Red Shoes in particular.
