BECK Live Action Movie?! HELL YEA!

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say this again. BECK is awesome; The anime is, and so is the manga. The music rocks, despite the Engrish. Ever since I watched the anime, I have always hoped for a live action adaptation of it, be it a movie or a drama series. Of course, a non-Hollywood adaptation.

I’m not one who likes to repost news that has been posted, but what the heck, this piece of news has gotten me hyped up! After the likes of trashy live actions that have been floating around, such as Hollywood’s Dragon “suckass” ball Evolution, as well as the heart-attack inducing news of the Full Metal Panic live action, we can still get good things from time to time.

And so, come Fall of 2010, a live action BECK movie will be released in Japan cinemas. Finally!

It seems like the actors will be undergoing intensive training for the instruments that their characters play, and I’m really looking forward to seeing that. At least we won’t be getting any Fuwa-Fuwa Time nonsensical craptastic PV. Also, a song list of 30 original songs will be written for this movie. 30 songs?! That’s a quite a lot compared to the NANA or DMC movies.

A few questions remain though. How much of the story can be covered within a single film? 34 volumes, or even 26 episodes aren’t easy to squeeze into about 2 hours of film time. Will the songs turn out to be trashy pop? What will the story turn out like if Ryuusuke takes over as the protagonist? The list goes on.

Will there be BECK?

Still, no matter what, I’m really looking forward to this. Considering the director’s Tsutsumi Yukihiko, the guy behind the 20th Century Boys movies and H2, I think it would realistic to expect the film to be very loyal to the original work.

Man, this is so exciting!

    Good news indeed.

At least there’s no need for CGI/SFX that could ruin it. (Unless they decide to CGI Beck) 30 songs is a lot to fit into one movie. And will the engrish charm still be present in them? I’m guessing the movie would end at the Fuji Rock Festival arc. A drama series would work much better.

Nah, I doubt there’ll be CGI in the movie. Also, I’m hoping that they would split the entire plot into 2-3 movies, like how they are doing it for 20th Century Boys.

I just hope I can catch it in local cinemas since I’ll probably be BMT.

If there’s the dog beck or keith… they must really work on it (i mean really really, i dont like “suckass” animations like the dragonball “suckass” movie lol /gg)…
