Somehow, I wasn’t particularly feeling any emotions of excitement for this year’s event. The following are some of the plausible reasons as to why:
- Dragon Quest IX launched on Saturday. DQ IX grinding > Cosplay event
- I’ve grown up and/or have gotten lazy to drag my arse to such events
There might be more, but I guess these factors didn’t deter me from Cosfest, at least for this year. There wasn’t anything that was impressive this year, but here are some of the cosplays that caught a bit of my interest.

My photography skills are rotting. In fact, I think I was even better when I started off. Perhaps the reason why I stopped taking photos for a period of time was because I realised that instead of improving, I was either stagnant or getting worse. Being lazy to leave the house didn’t help either.

Krauser II ended the event by violating the air
Ever since I attended an event in Japan, I’ve started to compare local cosplay to the standard I’ve seen there, and seldom find myself being impressed by anything now. The only thing that impressed me this time round was the absence of Naruto and Bleach groups running around the area. Hey, I can’t help it that I’m a Japanophile, and that I’ve seen cosplays of a higher standard across the sea.
Maybe I should have just stayed home and played DQ IX instead.

Oh I saw my friend’s pictures on FB, there were actually quite a lot of good ones what.
Hmm, I find that the cosplayers have leveled up somewhat dressing-wise. Posing and personality still needs fine tuning though.
I think your pics does show your frame of mind for the day. You’re capable of better shots, but these pics show a more reportage style rather than glamour shots. Shooters fatigue I guess.
BTW, it was a surprise to see you sans glasses. (I was the tall guy in red hanging behind TP. Sorry if I didn’t introduce myself)

Why this obsession with perfect cosplays? from where I’m from, almost all cosplays in the events can be related as nothing compared to the photos you’ve post.
If I was there I would be really enjoying the event
The nice of Coplay is dress as a character you like, and have a lot of fun with it.
