Furu Anime Panikku

I’ve been seeing quite a bit of news regarding the special K-ON! guitars that are to be released, and was wondering why there wasn’t one for BECK. My question was answered while I was browsing through the music magazine section in Kinokuniya. Holding up a copy of the August release of GiGS, I was deciding if I should make the purchase just for the band score of Black Market Blues by 9mm Parabellum Bullet. While deciding, I flipped to the back of the magazine, and was surprised by the advertisement.

It was Koyuki’s Fender Mustang (MG69-BECK) going for 105,000 yen. The advertisement’s there probably because of the upcoming movie next year, which is still a long way to go.

I ended up buying another guitar magazine, GO!GO! Guitar, which had more tabs, but took note of the advertisement anyway. After I got home, I began looking up on Koyuki’s guitar. I found out that it was released in December 2007, a year before the manga ended. Strangely, the only places that I can information about this are the Fender Japan website and some other online stores such as Amazon Japan. There’s not even the slightest trace of this on the official BECK website. No wonder I didn’t know of its’ existence.

Unlike crazed K-ON! fans, I’m not going to go crazy and spend that amount of money getting this even though it’s available on E-Bay. One thing that I’ve taken an interest in is Koyuki’s taste for color. I’m not sure if my Stratocaster has the exact same colour as his Mustang, but they look really similar. This further convinces me that I’m somewhat like Koyuki, minus the voice. Really, my voice sucks.

So yeah, I’m no longer Madarame from Genshiken. Stop calling me that already.

Even though this guitar is totally out of my league, it’ll be cool if I can get my hands on the pick even if I’m playing mostly using my fingers. I’m horrible at using the pick.
