BUMP OF CHICKEN - R.I.P Aired On Radio

Just 2 hours ago, the first airing of R.I.P, one of the 2 A-side songs from BUMP’s new soon-to-be released single, was aired on School of Lock. I tried tuning in to the online streaming, but failed to do so. So, I decided to wait for someone to upload it on the net. Sure enough, within an hour, it’s up. Just bear with the noise. As soon as I can find a new upload with better quality, you’ll see it here. Thanks to Hyou for the link to the better quality upload.

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Honestly, after a 2 year wait, I’m somewhat disappointed with R.I.P. I was really expecting something more mind-blowing, but I guess this will be like another 花の名. Hopefully, I’ll grow to like it after more listens. Now, I just hope that Merry Christmas will be impressive.

Hurry, 25th November!

sadly they have not made a better song than Melody Flag(which is my personal best)

    whats your favorite ?

I like the songs from their first album the most. Although they are the most unpolished, it gives a really youthful rock vibe.

  5. 5 bumper of kitchen

Personally I think R.I.P is a very good song, but I got into BUMP very recently, and listened to their earlier stuff along their newest works, so I don’t really feel an attachment towards their earlier sound.

However I can see how people who may have been following them since their 1st album might have trouble liking their newer work because the sound is more polished and less messy.

However, I think their lyrics are just as great now as they were before.

And I think R.I.P’s lyrics are great and deep, even though their meaning is very cryptic, even for native speakers.

There are tentative lyrics on this page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUv57-1yCQg

They’re very hard to understand but quite poetic, and the way FUJIWARA writes about childhood rings very true too to how children think.
