The Guy Who Leapt Through Anime, Drama and Movies

I have this habit of fast forwarding, skipping through parts of a show I’m watching. I think it has to do with my short attention span, but it does work wonders. For example, I can watch 2-3 episodes of Japanese drama, each nearly 40-50 minutes long, in just a single hour. I do the same for movies too, so a 90 minute movie can get cut down to 30 minutes.

Chiaki’s “Onani Play” Criticism

For those of you who have watched or read Nodame Cantabile, do you remember when Chiaki criticised Mine, that punky rocker violinist, regarding the way he plays? Chiaki used the words “Onani play”, which translates to masturbation play. In other words, self pleasure. I still remember how I laughed at that. The phrase was simply hilarious.

Major Season 5 Ends

Yet another fruitful season of my favourite baseball anime has come to a conclusion. It has been a wonderfully entertaining 25 episodes. Unlike season 4 which was focused only on Goro’s minor league arc, we get to see more characters sharing a place in the limelight, such as the players in Team Japan.

One thing that I love about Major is the emotional bits and pieces that start flying towards you with second you witness the teamwork of Goro’s team in play. It was present in all of the first 3 seasons, but sadly, absent in season 4. Those were really stuff that could result in buckets of passionate manly tears.
