Remember the extremely cute Haruhi from Cosfest VII who captured the hearts of many otakus and sent them to the ICU due to intensive blood loss? Here’s how she did it.

Thankfully, the geass was only half-developed. The consequences would have been dire had it been a mature geass like Lelouch’s.

I gave Day 1 a pass as I was too lazy to travel an hour just to snap photos. That, and I was also thinking that there wouldn’t be much on Day 1. After seeing coverage of Day 1 on other blogs, I think I’ve not missed out much. Day 2 seems to be much better.

This Haruhi cosplayer is cute ^^

Today’s highlight was the cosplay competition, so many came with cameras of all sorts for some snapping.

I failed my camera. It’s pretty decent at taking photos, but my skills just aren’t there. It was only after I got home and did some surfing around the interwebs when I realised that my shutter speed was far too slow as compared to what most people use for indoor shoots.

I thought I was in for a real treat when I read that some Japanese gravure idol named Morishita Yuuri released a photobook with images of her cosplaying as Ayanami Rei. It does indeed sound like something worth purchasing.
However, things are always the opposite of what you imagine them to be.

While I was in Japan, I was somehow transported to Pokeland. I’m sure we all remember where the classic Pokemon games, Red, Blue, Yellow and Green began. Palette Town. Well, it was the same for my experience. All I could remember was strolling around in Odaiba, and the next moment, I was in Palette Town. Wow! It was my dream to be a Pokemon Trainer back when I was 10, so it was like a long-lost childhood dream realised.

This year’s EOY was kind of a screw up for me.
First of all, I woke up at 1pm. I had orginally planned to wake up at around 9am, so that I could reach then EOY venue at around 11am-12pm. Seems like I was in such a deep slumber that even my alarm could not awake me. Oh well.
The next screwed up thing would be the camera. My mum took both the Casio and Sony digital cameras to Korea, so I was left with a crappy Fujifilm camera which uses XD cards. The camera’s package did not come with any XD card, and XD cards cost a bomb, as compared to SD cards. Not having the cash, I skipped the idea of getting an XD card, and just went direct to the event. Screw Fujifilm and their overpriced XD cards. I should sell this camera soon, and top up some cash to get a better camera.
Anyway, I went to EOY at 4pm with nothing but a camera that could only take 8 pictures. I decided I had to save the 8 shots for cosplayers who were really awesome. After paying 12 bucks for the entrance fee, I met up with Zer0 and Windbell. It was then Windbell told me that there was a really hawt Rei cosplayer with bandanges. Immediately, I decided to save all the shots I had for her.
One of the best Rei cosplays I have ever seen locally. The other was one which was equally as awesome was at Downtown East during the Cosfest 2007 finals.
Despite my crappy photography skills, and the inability to take a photo with proper background, I present to you the best cosplayer of EOY 2007.

I thought I wouldn’t go for the Cosfest 2007 finals, but I just went after camp anyway. It was a long ride, taking more than an hour from school, but I felt it was worth it. Anyway,I took lesser pictures than Day 1. But the finals had much more skilled/better looking cosplayers. Still, there were traps who were cosplaying, but it didn’t really matter much, since there were only a few.
The ones which i felt were good are as follows:

This is Day 1 of Cosfest 2007. The Cosfest happens to be part of the Tanjong Pagar GRC FIESTA @ Orchard, with the Guest of Honor Being Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.
The event began at 4pm,starting with the cosplay competetion, which was actually stage performances by the different teams that participate. I did not manage to take very good photos for all the teams that were on stage due to 2 reasons. The podium which was in the center of the stage, and the large number of photographers on at the base of the stage. Every 2 photos I took,at least one would have a head or part of the podium in it -.-
Hence,I picked the better looking photos to post. This is by no means a complete coverage of all the teams, but it’s definitely better than nothing. Enjoy!
