The Puchi Eva DS game is out in the market, and Evangelion fans are flooding to the stores to get it. Well, Evangelion fans except me. Anyway, that’s not the purpose of this post. Look at this picture and you’ll get why.
Sorry for the poor picture quality. That’s the best I can find >_<

As we all know, Evangelion has been, is and will always be milked for cash by Gainax and it’s merry bunch of business partners. Almost anything you want can be found proudly branded by Evangelion.

Want some new clothes? Grab an Evangelion Cospa Tee. Hungry? Snack on some Evangelion Doritos while sipping on a can of chilled Evangelion UCC coffee. Want some new footwear? Purchase a pair of Evangelion slippers. Want some music? Get an Evangelion iPod. Bored and have nothing better to splurge your cash on? Try your hand at Evangelion Pachinko.
Speaking of Evangelion Panchiko, take a look at the latest CR Evangelion Pachinko commercial.
The whole CR Evangelion series started way back in December 2004. So far, a total of 3 pachinko series have been released, both in machine and PS2 game formats. A fourth release has been scheduled this month. CR新世紀エヴァンゲリオン 〜使徒、再び〜 is the name of the release, and it translates to CR Neon Genesis Evangelion ~Come lose more moolah on us you mindless n00bs~.

Recently, I chanced upon this Evangelion Doujin game that was released light years ago, and decided to try it out. Until now, I still have not figured out what the game’s name is. Or maybe it just wasn’t named.

The game was rather straightforward. Despite it being a Japanese doujin game, there isn’t any Moonspeak involved, so everyone can play it. Before you begin, you can choose which side you want to be on. You can play either against the computer or another human player.
First it was the Gurren Lagann DS game, then Final Fantasy A2, and now this.

Remember when I said I just had to get Girlfriend of Steel 2 just a few posts ago?
Well, with the help of Windbell, I have finally managed to get it and just completed it yesterday. I only completed Rei’s ending though. This time, there is much more player interaction with the game, and it feels as if you are really in the visual novel’s world. I was hooked once I began and did not want to sleep until I managed to complete Rei’s ending.
Of course, with more interaction comes the chances of getting to a black screen with 2 dreaded word “Game Over”. Ever since my first bump into the dread black screen, I have learned the importance of saving frequently. After all, making each decision is like fighting a boss, one wrong move and it’s over for you.
Yes, I am slow. This game has been out since ages ago. And I just played it just 2 days ago. It also happened to be my first visual novel. I fail.
This is basically a rather simple visual novel. The player does not have to make much decisions, so the game feels much like watching an Evangelion OVA instead. Still, the storyline is rather interesting, and it kept me playing this game till the end.

In the game, a new transfer student, Mana Kirishima is introduced in the story. Mana is a character who looks somewhat like Rei, with roughly the same character design, just that she has a different hair and eye colors. Upon appearing, she sticks to Shinji like super glue. And that gets that ego-inflated orange haired tsundere, Asuka, all fired up. Mana’s relationship with Shinji, however, is not as close as we think. Mana has a dark past which she conceals from Shinji, and coincidently happens to be a child pilot of another type of robot, which is somewhat similar to what Shinji is. She was supposed to spy on Shinji and Evangelion Unit 01, but with her other friends who are child pilots running away in the robots from the organisation they were from, she gets into trouble and is hunted down desperately by the organisation. Yesterday was the last day of school for the term,so my CCA decided to organise a club outing/dinner. We were actually supposed to have a BBQ and an overnight stay in school, but it seems that we had some problems with the management. Anyway, after dinner, we moved on to the arcade.
Look at what I saw.(This is for the Gundam-otakus)
