I’ve finally completed all 338 chapters of this high school baseball series, and it was certainly worth my time, even if it meant pushing back my assignments for a couple of days.

As usual, Adachi Mitsuru doesn’t disappoint with his usual style that remains the same from Miyuki. Chapters that begin with random sceneries, cold/lame humor that for some reason or another I find funny, and very simple clean art.
Here’s a sum up of the story with all the nitty gritty filtered out.

This happened to be my first Amazon Japan order using my own money, and also the biggest package I received from Amazon Japan too.

Before this, I had to approach my parents each time I wanted something from an online store. It was really inconvenient, especially since there was the possibility of them rejecting, saying “Didn’t you just order something recently?”
A peek at the loot right after the break.

Somehow, I stumbled upon High School Of The Dead, and I was glad that I did. I’ve always been looking for manga or anime that has a storyline flowing along the lines of the zombie outbreak ever since I became a fan of zombie flicks a couple of years ago, but I never seemed to be able to find any. Somehow, High School Of The Dead slipped under my radar until a couple of days ago, when I read it by sheer random luck.

There was a Kinokuniya 20% sales for members, so I decided to pop by and grab some reading materials.
I wanted to get the latest Dragon Magazine, but unfortunately, Kinokuniya doesn’t stock it. The other unfortunate thing is that the latest issue of Dragon Age doesn’t contain a new FMP Sigma chapter, so I decided to pass on it. Instead, I purchased a copy of Dengeki Bunko, since there are some nice goodies included with it.

So, school has started for a week and there’s the dreaded thing knowing as travel time. I spend almost 2 hours to get to and to return from school, so the best thing to do with that time is to read some manga. I’ve only been seriously learning Japanese for slightly more than half a year (those lessons by the Polytechnic don’t count, they were a waste of time), so my speed of reading is really slow. What some people could have completed in a couple of days, I took slightly more than a week.

However, lamenting about how slow I’m reading isn’t the point here. Talking about Full Metal Panic Sigma is.

I was looking through Tokyopop’s website, searching for the details and release date of Battle Royale Ultimate Volume 2, when I noticed something ironic.

Recently, I rediscovered how GAR Shinji is. If the Shinji that came to your mind is Ikari Shinji from Evangelion, you are sadly mistaken. He’s the wimpy Shinji. The GAR Shinji I mention is Mimura Shinji from Battle Royale. I’m pretty sure the BR Shinji must be ashamed to have the same name another wuss has.

Although a male post image header is a taboo, there’s no other choice in this case.

Ever wondered where the Imouto Complex theme in popular modern series such as Da Capo originated from? I have always been puzzled by this question, although the theme does not appeal to me at all, in any sense.
When I chanced upon this manga released by Mitsuru Adachi (also the author of the well-known baseball series, H2) in 1980, I realised that it might be the ancestor of the ever-popular theme among hordes of otakus. After all, I don’t particularly know of any series with a similar theme in the 1980s.
The name of the manga? Miyuki.

As I am feeling rather sluggish, I suggest you read the Wikipedia link above for more details, as my introduction would be merely a few lines.Basically, the story is about this guy, Wakamatsu Masato, who has a girlfriend named Miyuki and lives with his younger sister who also goes by the same name. Hence, there are 2 Miyukis. Sounds rather uninteresting right? Wait up, there’s a twist.
Masato and his sister are not blood-related, and hence theoretically speaking, it’s perfectly normal if they are a couple.

I’m sure everyone who reads this blog has had a dream that is somewhat related to Anime/Manga, or some aspects of Otaku Culture, at least once. Especially since we probably all think, sleep, eat and drink anime. It could be some ecchi dream with all the hawt anime girls flocking around you to your heart’s desire. It could you be piloting this ultra cool transformable mecha, out to save the world. It could even be something more realistic, like having your dream otaku room.

Everyone dreams, but not all dreams are recalled upon awaking from slumberland.
I probably dream anime/manga and whatnot every time I sleep, but I cannot really recall much of the dreams related to this topic, if there are that many. One dream, however, was rather unique that I actually remembered it. The whole dream felt so realistic and actually sent a chill down my spine when I woke up. There were neither moe characters nor leet mechas present in my subconscious mind during that dream.
