Anime, Otakism and the rantings of Japanese Popular Culture
You might ask why? Here’s why.

I wish I had a cellphone that talks to wake me up each morning
As some of you might know, I purchased my very first pair of earphones during my Japan trip last month. Before that, I was using a pair of unhygienic, filthy in-ear earphones, so an upgrade to headphones was definitely a purchase that was most welcomed.
So why the ATH-SQ5?

I’m no audiophile, and neither do I have extremely sensitive ears. The thing that first caught my attention was the design. Audio Technica’s a Japanese brand, and we all know that the Japanese often come up with awesome designers. The SQ5’s no exception.

Fuji Television, home to countless Japanese dramas as well as some anime. Since we were in the Odaiba area, we decided to drop by Fuji Television’s Odaiba building to take a look at what the hype among tourists was all about.
It was nightfall by the time we were done with our Byousoku journey, but it was still rather early, since the sky turns dark at around 6pm in Japan. Since Shibuya was just a few stops away, we decided to head over for some photo taking. There was a HMV at Shibuya too, so I was planning to grab a couple of CDs there, as well as help a friend get something he requested.

In order for our Byousoku trail to continue, we had to pass through Yoyogi Park, a rather huge park between Harajuku and Yoyogi. Or so I think we had to. I wasn’t sure of the way, so I just followed Windbell around and snapped whatever I fancied with my camera.
Upon entering the park, it felt like there wasn’t many people around, but I was proven wrong when I went further in. Look at the photo below and you will understand why I first thought this way.

Here’s Day 3 of Japan. We went to a number of places today, and covered quite some distance.
Since Windbell did a post on the Byousoku 5cm spots in real life, there’s no point in reinventing the wheel. Hence, I wouldn’t be posting the same stuff he posted half a year ago. Instead, I’ll just post whatever photos I have taken and leave it for you to find out which part of Byousoku 5cm it appears in.
Actually, I’m just lazy and I didn’t bring any pictures along with me during the journey, so I wasn’t exactly sure of what to look out for. But hey, now you’ll get a mix of Byousoku and non-Byousoku photos, and it’ll be like some spotting game. Sounds fun right?
Familiar, isn’t it. Everyone who has watched Byousoku 5cm would definitely know of this place. Now, that’s too easy for everyone. Let’s start from Shinjuku.
Here goes!

Once again, Windbell and I made a trip to Ueno. This time, it wasn’t for karaoke. It was to take a look at the cherry blossoms that have bloomed in Ueno Park. It was my first Hanami experience, so I was really looking forward to it. This will be another mass photo spam post, since there is no other way better to express the beauty of the Sakuras.

Here are some of the goodies that my homestay student brought over from Japan.

I’ve always wanted to watch Koizora ever since I knew that it was coming to Singapore. Nope, it wasn’t because it was some box office top seller. It was for 4 reasons that I watched Koizora.
