After riding trains for almost 8 hours, I’ve finally made it from the south to Tokyo. The first thing I did after checking into the hostel was to head down to Akihabara for dinner and a little shopping. I had dinner, and literally did a little shopping.

He did make a half body appearance in chapter 279, but not a single word was spoken. Hence, 280 should be the official chapter in which Kei finally revives.

Remember when I appeared in the newspapers for some otaku interview not too long ago? Apparently, my dad had gotten himself a spot in the local newspapers too. The topic of the article in The New Paper? His figurine “obsession”.
I’ve heard comments stating that my figurine collection’s pretty decent, but I never thought so. Why? When I glance over at my dad’s collection, I’d have to hang my head in shame.

While we both collect different genres of figurines, be it moe and mecha or wildlife, figurines are still figurines. Sadly, I’m severely defeated in every single aspect.

As briefly mentioned in my previous post, I hosted a Japanese student who came all the way from a Polytechnic in Hiroshima, Japan, over the weekends. It was a rather good opportunity to practice some casual Japanese, as well as to expand my contacts.

It turned out that my homestay student studies Architecture, practices boxing, and loves motorcycles. That’s the exact opposite of what I am. Still, he told me that he was glad that I could speak Japanese, since he was rather worried about communication problems before the homestay began.
This time, unlike the previous exchange program I experienced in March earlier this year, most of the time we spent going out was in a pair of 2 hosts and students, or as a huge group. This time, however, almost all the hosts could speak some Japanese. Most took classes in school, and could manage with asking if they wanted to eat, or what they wanted to do.

And even if I don’t, the raditation emission is probably going to kill me faster than you can scream “MOE!”.

It’s been a long time since I ever went to an IT sales convention as a customer. The past few times had me working my ass off. This time, I actually get to spend some moolah. Whee!

A classmate of mine in Japanese class wanted to start off with some manga reading so that he could put his Japanese reading skills to practice, as well as to slightly improve his vocabulary.
Since I attend Japanese lessons twice a week and the main Kinokuniya Branch’s just down the road, I usually make my purchases just before lesson time, so as to save myself an extra trip. Sometimes, the Kinokuniya plastic bag’s just too bulky to be contained within my bag, especially when I buy monthly serialisations. Therefore, I carry them by hand, and it’s no surprise that the whole class knows that I read manga. But I always tell them it’s for practice purposes.

Anyway, since he was quite eager to start on Japanese manga, I figured that I might as well give him a hand when he asked if I could head over to Kinokuniya together with him. Who knows, he may turn out to be someone who loves manga.

There was some sale that was on at IKEA a couple of months ago, and I purchased a second bookshelf then. I clearly knew that I had more than enough shelf space, be it for figurines, CDs or reading materials. Yet, I was some way or another, convinced that it would be better to get an extra just in case all my storage space runs out.
And so, all the stuff which could be packed nicely into 1 bookshelf is now split into two. This is what it results in.

I’ve always thought that the Evangelion X BEAMS line of clothing was overpriced, despite their innovative designs. Then came along RADIO EVA, boring designs and overpriced cloth.

Why, this looks like any dull Polo Tee.
Guess how much it’s going to cost. It will blow your mind away.
