Looks like I got lazy and simply cut and pasted whatever there was on KKnM’s website. This post will be stickied till the day of the event. For fellow comrades with a like-minded love for 2D, you can make your way down on the days of the event to check it out. Don’t ask me what’s going on, since I’m probably as clueless as you are.

Personally, I have an extreme distaste for both type of bread, but my opinion doesn’t matter here anyway. Ja-pan for the win. Sadly, Azuma’s not a moe female character, so no one will promote his bread in the 3D world. The Bread-talk give-away to some anime bloggers last year was an exception though.

There’s supposed to be a pre-relocating sale on majority of all the items in that certain Comics Connection branch, and the goods with the most discounts are the anime VCDs . I guess that’s the most logical thing to do, considering Bluray’s growing usage.

On a closer look, I recalled that some, if not almost all of the vcds have been left there for more than a year. And now, even with this $5 sale, no one wants them at a 75% discounted price.

I can imagine this conversation.

I think the store’s better off leaving their stock of VCDs behind when the relocate. It’s a waste of space anyway, since no one has bought any of it for the past year or so.

After 6 long episodes, it finally happened on the 7th.

There may have been some battle scenes for the past 6 episodes, but I never once regarded them as real battles. Those can merely be considered as training practices. The real deal is inclusive of Sheryl’s epic vocals, Alto’s selfless GAR battle performance, and a crazy shot of the mothership’s cannon. Freaking kickass!

Still, the scale of the battle isn’t comparable to the final battle featured in Macross Do You Remember Love, with never-ending hordes of Zentradian fleets flying like critters all over the place, a gazillion bombarding mass of missiles and laser beams and the ever-awesome 愛・覚えていますか sung by Lynn Minmay, owning the Zentradis straight in the face. Sadly, the graphics was of 1984 standards. If only they would remake the movie with graphics on par with Macross Frontier, I would definitely shed manly tears as I loop the final battle scene over and over again.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning of even more epic-class battles in the episodes to come. That way, we get the best of all 3 worlds; The girls, the mecha and the music.

1. Be a female anime blogger

The reason why some blogs are getting all the hits and comments while the other ones around the same level aren’t is sometimes due to the gender of the writer. It’s a well-known fact that if you’re female, chances are that you’ll be popular on the internet. Drill the fact that you are a female into the brains of the hot-blooded otaku readers of your site, and you’ll gradually see a spike in the traffic charts, as well as your posts suddenly getting double or triple the usual number of comments. Your blog will soon have some stalkers too. I suppose some male otakus are guilty of this, no?

If you get flamed, you will probably have your own personal online otaku army for a counterattack. After all, which otaku doesn’t want a real life Konata who blogs about anime and the otaku culture?

To establish the fact to those fools who don’t believe that you’re female, you can try occasionally try what Nakagawa Shouko does. Either that, or a massive string of fangirl rantings and ravings.

2. Pretend to be a female anime blogger

If you aren’t female, you can declare yourself as one and start writing in a tone that appears to be such of a female. It works, really. I can’t count with my fingers how many times I’ve heard people saying that they thought Impz was a female blogger until they met him in real life.

Just don’t let the truth be revealed, or things aren’t going to be very pretty. If all fails, try recruiting a female co-writer. A blog that has a female writer always tends to get slightly more popularity that one that totally doesn’t have.

3. Post on eroge

You can post updates on the latest eroge releases, comment on what’s good and what sucks, as well as post reviews on the countless eroges you have played. Of course, this would not be as simple as one might think, since eroges are time consuming, and you’ll need Japanese knowledge. Still, majority of your blog’s visitors won’t really care about what you write as long as your have a couple of screenshots included after every paragraph. Just be prepared to see your site blocked by internet filters.

4. Flame and start dramas

On the internet, people respond to flames just like how moths respond to light. Keep up the flaming and you’ll soon see many people jumping into the fray, flaming you, or flaming the others who have flamed you. Flame Naruto and Narutards, Bleach and Bleachers and anything else that can come to your mind.

Once the flames have began, try your hand at creating some drama to spice up life on the internet. That’s what majority of the internet loves anyway. If you get multiple drastic reactions, celebrate for you have succeeded. Just prepare yourself for hate mail from your countless fans.

Sadly, I’m not a female, nor do I have the skills to pretend to be one online. I like to keep my site safe for work, and I suck at flaming. I’ll probably get caught in the flames rather than being the one doing the flaming.

Still, I’m sure that there are many out there who have the skills or ability to fulfill at least one out of the 4 points stated. Heck, you can be/pretend to be a female anime blogger who fangirl raves about how Yaoi is the greatest thing since sliced bread and blogs about eroge and otome games. You’ll get tons of traffic and awesome reader interaction. How cool is that?

I’m not exactly sure how trustworthy this source is, but it seems play a rather credible role of a news site for the upcoming movie releases in Japan, as well as an archive site for movie releases in Japan.

It’s quite a pity that it’s coming out so late. I was hoping for a September release, but it looks like Gainax doesn’t plan to have Evangelion 2.0 clashing with the Gurren Lagann Movie. I guess we can expect the release of Evangelion 3.0 and 4.0 in late 2009, and the release of Evangelion 2.0’s DVD in either June or July 2009.

In other news, the Major movie’s scheduled to be out in December 2008 too. Hurray for Goro pitching his fastballs on the silver screen!

As usual, Adachi Mitsuru doesn’t disappoint with his usual style that remains the same from Miyuki. Chapters that begin with random sceneries, cold/lame humor that for some reason or another I find funny, and very simple clean art.

Here’s a sum up of the story with all the nitty gritty filtered out.

2 best friends since junior high who are awesome baseball players fall for the same girl, Hikari, who happens to be the main character, Hiro’s childhood friend. However, Hiro only learned that he liked Hikari after he played cupid between Hikari and his best friend, Hideo. The story goes on revolving around the relationship between the 3, the people around them and baseball. It eventually ends of with the 2 Hs (which explains why the title is H2), Hiro and Hideo facing off in a cliche pitcher vs batter duel at the holy baseball ground, Koushien. Who won? That’s for me to know and for you to find out, if you haven’t read the manga yet.

I enjoyed H2 as much as I enjoyed Major, but in a different way. Major focuses much more on baseball itself, while H2 has much more character development and romance as compared to Major. Hence, the main thing about Major is to observe how Goro proceeds through his life of Baseball, while the main thing about H2 is to observe how the love triangle and other surrounding relationships, be it friendships or romance, proceed with baseball as a medium. Of course, I have yet to read the Major’s manga, but I”m sure that the anime adaption is faithful to the manga. Still, it’s not an overstatement to say that both series are awesome.

Some people might question why I enjoyed the manga even though the art was not very catchy. My answer is simple.I read manga not just for the art, but for the storyline. If a storyline interests me, and the art’s decent, it’s worth a read. I guess I’m just easily entertained.

Pure Moe fans should stay away from this manga though, since the girls aren’t portrayed to be Moe despite an amount of fanservice present. Compared to current series with panty shots ever few pages, H2 would lose hands down, but I’m pretty sure that according to the standards of more than 15 years ago, it’s quite an amount.

Miyuki was awesome, and now that I’ve read H2, I’ve come to realise that I’m growing to like Adachi Mitsuru’s work more and more. I think I shall move on to enjoy more of his simple yet entertaining works such as Katsu!, Touch and Cross Game

In the meantime, I shall complete the live action Jdorama adaption of H2 aired in 2005. I’ve watched the first few episodes, and I’m pleased that it’s faithful to the original story, and that almost all the characters resemble their manga counterparts. The length’s that of a typical Jdorama, spanning over 11 episodes, so I think it’s worth a watch for those who have read the manga. After all, good live action adaptations are hard to come by these days.

P.S. The live action Haruka is so darn cute!

I’ve digressed too much from the purpose of this post.

Anyway, it seems that the Japanese have brought this habit to the interwebs too. HERE, you can browse through 30 out of 400 pages of the newly released Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records that costs more than 10,000 yen.

It’s definitely less enjoyable browsing through the online samples as compared to the real deal, but hey, free stuff is always good.

Besides the hard cover book, there’s also a film strip included, similar to the Evangelion 1.01 DVD, as well as a CD that includes some nifty desktop decoration features.

I have not the slightest idea why Amazon Japan categorizes this product as a computer software. The book’s supposed to be the main selling point, not the CD! Also, it’s out of stock, so I’ll probably never be able to get it even if I have the money.

Hopefully, some lucky kind Evangelion fan uploads the artbook scans soon. I’m dying to see what else is in there.

Regular posting will begin tomorrow, since I’m a little to lazy to write anything now. As for today, I shall complete the last few chapters of H2. It’s really awesome like Major, so it’ll be worth your time if you like baseball manga.

Let’s just hope the connection speeds don’t revert back to their sloth forms.

The problem lies with my host, Dreamhost. I have sent some emails to their support regarding this problem. Each time, the problem would be solved a day or 2 after the email. Yet, the same problem would come back after that, and I have to email their support again.

This is really pissing me off. I’m really bent on switching hosts, but the 6 month of hosting that I have remaining with them makes me think twice. Still, I shudder at the thought of having to last another 6 months with more than 50% downtime.

The frequent downtime and slow connection speeds have been harsh on my website’s traffic, which has dropped by more than 50%. Readers probably won’t want to wait for more than a minute or two to connect to a website.

Seriously, how can Dreamhost screw up so much that downtime occurs every couple of days? I guess I should have heeded the advice some people gave.

I’ll wait till the end of the month to make my decision. If I still get crappy speeds, I’m definitely saying goodbye.

Somehow, Keita reminds me a little of Ikari Shinji, but he’s definitely manlier than Shinji can ever be. It’s only the beginning, so Keita might just grow out of being a lonely loser to becoming a super cool secret agent with a walking, talking cellphone who kicks ass as his partner.

Still, Keita is a dumbass who doesn’t realise that his cute classmate has a crush on him. Instead of desperately trying to avoid her, he should just quit being Kuuki-kun (literally translated as air-kun) and accept her affection. Hopefully, he will soon.
Oh, and his co-worker reminds me of Misato.

There are 51 episodes for this dorama, and that’s surprisingly long considering most Jdoramas end at 11 or 12 episodes. No one’s complaining though, for more is good. If you haven’t started on this dorama, but like talking handphones with leet martial art skills, hacking, and some cute girls, I suggest that you begin watching this series this instant.
