At long last, I finally get my hands on my very own ARX-8. I’d very much prefer a life-sized, fully functional ARX-8, but sadly, it exists only in my imagination, so I think I should just settle for the action figurine model instead.

So, why is the ARX-8 so awesome? Let’s overlook the fact that its arsenal consists of the lambda driver, the 65mm Multi-purpose Demolition Howitzer and a few other weapons that would instill fear in the hearts of even its bravest foes.

It’s the dreaded time of the school semester once again. Exams.

As usual, I’ve increased my intake of media, now that every single one of my assignments have all been handed in. This time however, I’ve not been watching much animated media, save for a couple of Gintama episodes and the weekly dosage. Instead, I’ve drastically increased my reading intake, be in on the screen or in the books. This should explain the slight surge in manga posts.

In the latest issue of Shonen Jump, the duo behind Death Note released a debut chapter of a new series titled Bakuman. The Death Note manga was rather awesome and I enjoyed it until L died and the 2 brats took over, so I decided, why not check out the pair’s new work?

There’s zero killing intent in this manga, at least for how it’s portrayed now. Everything appears to be normal as well, and this means no Death Notes, Shinigamis or evil masterminds.

I took up Mark’s suggestion that if I love mystery manga, I should get started on 20th Century Boys, and ended up reading both 20th and 21st Century Boys over last Friday and Saturday. I was hooked on some sort of spiritual drug.

The series is exactly like a rollercoaster ride. It’s thrilling, and it keeps you wanting to come back for more. With every twist, turn and rush giving the reader a new-found sense of adrenaline. Never at one point of time did a sense of boredom linger within me. It was always the thought of “What’s going to happen next? I MUST READ ON!” that kept flowing through my mind as each chapter passed.

As much as I’m overjoyed that Alter will be releasing the ARX-7 Arbalest this coming Winter, I’m praying hard that they make changes to this.

Is it just my hallucination, or am I really seeing Aravalest on the base?

The latest Lupin III special, Sweet Lost Night, happens to have the story set in a tropical island the size of a tiny dot on the equator of the world’s map. Now, this miniature sunny islet has been featured a couple of times in fictional media. Cowboy Bebop has a Singaporean bounty hunter, and the last installment of Pirates of the Caribbean portrays Singapore as a pirate island.

Welcome to Singapore
This time in Lupin III, the portrayal is rather amusing, considering that some portions were actually decently featured.

In the latest issue of Dragon Age, there is news of a new figurine of Miyamoto Rei by Organic and the release date of the 5th volume.

In case the image above isn’t clear enough for you, it states that this Rei’s going to be roughly 1/8 scaled, scheduled for release this Autumn, and that the price has yet to be fixed.

Finally, Kinokuniya brought in the latest issue of Dragon Age. I actually made a 45 minute trip down last Saturday only to find out that the shipment was delayed >_> To make the most out of my trip, I bought something to read on the way back. That meant more cash spent. Not good at all.
I went down again today to grab Dragon Age the day stock arrives, as it always seems to run out unusually quick.
