I’ve said this before, and I’ll say this again. BECK is awesome; The anime is, and so is the manga. The music rocks, despite the Engrish. Ever since I watched the anime, I have always hoped for a live action adaptation of it, be it a movie or a drama series. Of course, a non-Hollywood adaptation.

I’m not one who likes to repost news that has been posted, but what the heck, this piece of news has gotten me hyped up! After the likes of trashy live actions that have been floating around, such as Hollywood’s Dragon “suckass” ball Evolution, as well as the heart-attack inducing news of the Full Metal Panic live action, we can still get good things from time to time.
And so, come Fall of 2010, a live action BECK movie will be released in Japan cinemas. Finally!

My first contact with FMA was via the first anime adaptation which was airing on local TV 4 to 5 years back. Yes, at that time, I still watched TV. The first thing that caught my attention was the opening sequence which featured “UNDO” by Cool Joke. At that time, I was new to the world of anime and the like. Hence, it was no surprise that I devoured nearly all the anime I came into contact with. FMA was no exception.

I began following the local airing of FMA for a couple of weeks before I decided to get my ass off staring at the TV and position myself facing the computer screen instead. The few episodes that I watched on TV were more or less the more exciting ones of the entire anime, so the series left quite an impression on me. I started reading the manga.

I’ve finally caught up with Bloody Monday, at least till the latest tankoubon release. Book 8’s going to be out real soon, in probably a week or 2. I think I should really begin reading the weekly chapter releases in Shonen Magazine after completing book 8. Meanwhile, it’s a good thing the drama’s ongoing and the end doesn’t appear anytime soon. This means I’ll still get my continual weekly dosage of hacking and action scenes.

Anyway, I’ve finally understood why I didn’t enjoy the previous episode as much as I should have. I’ve was trying too hard in my comparison between every single thing in the drama and the manga.
