Decorate Your Tumbler With Anime : Chocolate Shop’s Artwork

If you have the habit of bringing a tumbler around with you, you might be interested in the following pictures. And even if you don’t have a tumbler, continue reading on. The pictures are rather awesome. Just looking at them tempts me to get a tumbler right away, even though I don’t have the habit of bringing around anything that stores drinking liquid.

Evangelion Strategy Doujin Game

Recently, I chanced upon this Evangelion Doujin game that was released light years ago, and decided to try it out. Until now, I still have not figured out what the game’s name is. Or maybe it just wasn’t named.

The game was rather straightforward. Despite it being a Japanese doujin game, there isn’t any Moonspeak involved, so everyone can play it. Before you begin, you can choose which side you want to be on. You can play either against the computer or another human player.

Girlfriend of Glasses?!

This is most definitely doujin artwork done by a Japanese doujin group. The weird name is hence accounted for. And to think some people find Girlfriend of Steel a weird name for a visual novel.

This character design looks rather decent, and I’m sure Megane fanboys would love her. Unlike Kirishima Mana, who is designed after a mixture of Rei and Asuka, this character design is original. Which brings us to the next point.

Nagko/Yuji Kobayashi

I shall take back my comments from the doujinshi post I wrote a few days back. Doujinshi can be as awesome as, or even be on a higher level than official work. Now, I have a rough idea why fellow otakus are willing to brave the harsh elements for doujinshi. I am enlightened (Ok, that sounded rather spastic)

While I was browsing through an imageboard, I chanced upon Nagko’s art. There’s something about his art style that I like, but I’m unable to figure out what it is specifically as I am artistically retarded.

Here are some samples of his works (SFW) :

Doujinshi : Something I’m Not Into

Doujin events such as Comiket are held, and many risk their lives, braving the scorching heat or bone-chilling winds, queuing for hours and hours for popular doujinshi. I’m amazed at their determination, and at the same time, I have no idea what the source of this die-hard determination is. Can unofficial art actually fuel this great passion?

Personally, I am not a fan of doujin artworks. I’m not denying that there are many great doujin art around, but I seem to be more of an official merchandise collector. The official sticker is appealing to me.

After having embarked on the otaku route for most than a year, my collection of doujinshi remains at a pathetic 0. When I headed to Akihabara and had a limited time of 1 hour, I spent most of my time looking for official stuff such as figurines and pencilboards. I wasn’t bothered with doujinshi.

This mindset is probably due to my lack of encounters with doujinshi.
