Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records Samples Up For Online Browsing

For my past few trips in Japan, I’ve noted a Japanese habit each time I enter a bookstore or stroll past the convenience store’s reading material section. It seems that browsing through reading materials free of charge, followed by placing them back on the shelves instead of buying them is a national habit. That being said, I’m in no way against that habit. In fact, I would very much like to have such a habit too, but the thing that stops me from developing such a habit are the “No browsing” signs all over the magazine sections in local stores.

I’ve digressed too much from the purpose of this post.

Anyway, it seems that the Japanese have brought this habit to the interwebs too. HERE, you can browse through 30 out of 400 pages of the newly released Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records that costs more than 10,000 yen.

My Habit Of Checking Gainax’s Website

I have this habit which grew onto me ever since I learned that Gainax updates their website’s main page every Saturday with a new image. In the past, it used to be stuff like Evangelion, FLCL and some other Gainax productions, but recently, it’s been a whole string of Gurren Lagann images for weeks.

The images are original unpublished art, so I figured that starting a collection of them would be a good idea. After all, majority of the art is quite interesting and pleasing to the eyes, such as the image above. Gurren sure can rock!

Once again, it’s Saturday and I paid my usual visit. This time, I got quite a shock of my life.

A Look At Evangelion 1.01

Just 2 more Fridays and the DVD I’ve long awaited will be released. Well, before it actually comes out for sale, let’s take a look and the contents included in Evangelion 1.01.

Before this, only the contents have been revealed, but there were no pictures to show what the contents really looked like. This time however, photos of all the contents have been taken.

Evangelion 1.0 Tickets And Evangelion 2.0 Release Date Prediction

Like many fellow Singaporean bloggers, I have finally got a chance to catch Evangelion 1.0 on the big screen locally. Even though it is the second time I am watching Evangelion 1.0 in the cinemas, I was equally as excited as those who were doing so for the first time. For those of you who were wondering what’s there to be so excited about after having watched it once already, the answer to that is Evangelion Fanboy Instincts (EFI). I just made up that term a split second ago.

The Most Expensive Evangelion Artbook EVER!!!

evangelion10_group.jpg

Or so I think. Gainax has released an uncountable ton of Evangelion artbooks, but none of them can beat the upcoming release, ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:序 全記録全集, which roughly translates to Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records. Even the total cost Groundwork of Evangelion Movie #1 and #2 which sums up to be 7,000 yen pales in comparison.

3D CGI Treatment For Puchi Evangelion Anime

The news regarding Puchi Evangelion’s anime was released long ago, but not much information was given about it. Nothing much is known besides the characters and the name of the series.

Just a few days ago, Gainax released an update featuring the behind the scenes process of Puchi Evangelion. I found it rather interesting to see how they actually worked on their 3D art.

Pictures after the jump.

Imageboards : The Best Way To Kill/Burn Time

Imageboards are seriously addictive. I go to one in search of a single picture, only to remain at the same site looking for more pictures which I didn’t intend to find. This results in a waste of precious time, time which could be spent wisely on completing my anime backlogs, or even studying for my exam arrving in less than 2 weeks.

Rei’s Hawt

On the other hand, it isn’t always that bad an idea, since my image collection gets to grow. This is rather handy as it would be easier obtaining an image via scrolling through a collection that has passed your very own quality check standards, rather than just blindly searching imageboards or even googling for it. This would be like spending your time now, so that you can save it in the future.

Gainax Loot

Today’s trip to KKnM was only supposed to be for me to sell the Evangelion 3D card to Sentinel011. Just before I headed down, I recieved 2 smses. Sweet.

Yoko from Gurren Lagann, and the 2 Pinky:ST Evangelion girls have arrived.

At KKnM, when it was finally my turn to purchase (the queue was considered long for a weekday), I collected my 2 preorders, and at the same time, enquired about the Petite Eva mini figurines that were in the arrival list. It turned out that they were keychains. I was still pondering over whether to get it, but once I was told that not all sets have the limited angel that comes with Ayanami Rei, I was immediately sold to the Petite Evas.

Sentinel came over soon after I was done with my purchase and bought the card.

Let me calculate my finances for the day. Continue reading ‘Gainax Loot’

A JOB WELL DONE, GAINAX !!!

Finally, Gainax didn’t do what it did with Evangelion. The last episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was totally awesome. Not like some stupid 2 episode self reflection and a final congratulating session by the entire cast. The Evangelion TV series’ ending was pretty stupid. The End of Evangelion, however, is pure ownage. If the End of Evangelion is 100% epic, then so is the final episode of Gurren Lagann.

お疲れ様でした

Tears of passion almost flowed out during the final battle with the Anti-spirals. And who said anime cannot be as emotional as real life?

Gainax sure does know how to milk Anime Fans…

I just bought my Gurren Lagann Impact Model around 2 weeks ago when I was in Akihabara. The picture below is of the model which I own.

Now, there’s another model of it coming out. With wings. Woohoo!
