Figure it out from the following image.

If you can’t figure it out, look at the tags.
And if you still can’t figure it out, wait for another 2 to 3 weeks.
Look who’s gracing the DVD cover of the regular version of Evangelion 1.0.

Due to the limited edition being sold out almost everywhere, fanboys and girls who missed out on the limited edition but want a copy of Evangelion 1.0 have no choice but to purchase the regular edition, no matter what the cover is. Hence, there’s no doubt that preorder sales has been excellent for the regular version, with it holding 9th position on Amazon’s DVD sales ranking. Still, much more can be improved.
Here’s how:

Look at the filmstrip that I received in my copy of Evangelion 1.01.

Bah, this is so gay! At least give me Kaworu if I was destined to get a male character >_>
Now I need to rob some poor otaku who is unlucky enough to possess a Rei filmstrip.
Recently, I rediscovered how GAR Shinji is. If the Shinji that came to your mind is Ikari Shinji from Evangelion, you are sadly mistaken. He’s the wimpy Shinji. The GAR Shinji I mention is Mimura Shinji from Battle Royale. I’m pretty sure the BR Shinji must be ashamed to have the same name another wuss has.

Although a male post image header is a taboo, there’s no other choice in this case.
This happened to be my loot of the day for EOY 2007. $15 for 20 bookmarks was a rather good deal.
I was actually looking for this set of bookmarks every since I saw that promotional mini poster in Kinokuniya. Never had I expected to find it at a cosplay event. Now I do not have to buy 20 Evangelion manga volumes just to get the entire set. Sweet! Then again, I just might get them if I make another trip to Japan.
Anyway, I have scanned the complete set and uploaded it in a zip file. For those interested, you can get it here.
Remember when I said I just had to get Girlfriend of Steel 2 just a few posts ago?

I went to Kinokuniya today, and happened to browse through this book. I regret doing so, and sympathize with my wallet. It’s awesome. I must get it. Even though I already said I would not unnecessarily get artbooks.

Yes, I am slow. This game has been out since ages ago. And I just played it just 2 days ago. It also happened to be my first visual novel. I fail.
This is basically a rather simple visual novel. The player does not have to make much decisions, so the game feels much like watching an Evangelion OVA instead. Still, the storyline is rather interesting, and it kept me playing this game till the end.

In the game, a new transfer student, Mana Kirishima is introduced in the story. Mana is a character who looks somewhat like Rei, with roughly the same character design, just that she has a different hair and eye colors. Upon appearing, she sticks to Shinji like super glue. And that gets that ego-inflated orange haired tsundere, Asuka, all fired up. Mana’s relationship with Shinji, however, is not as close as we think. Mana has a dark past which she conceals from Shinji, and coincidently happens to be a child pilot of another type of robot, which is somewhat similar to what Shinji is. She was supposed to spy on Shinji and Evangelion Unit 01, but with her other friends who are child pilots running away in the robots from the organisation they were from, she gets into trouble and is hunted down desperately by the organisation. Yes that’s right. It’s time to help the male character in Evangelion whom you absolutely adore to win this prestigious title, and banish the fags whom you would dearly like to slaughter to hell. There is no need for a Ms Evangelion though, as Rei would win hands down. Not much of a competition now, isn’t it?
Anyway, here are the contestants.
Alright, coming right up after the break are the introductions.
