in Manga.
I mentioned not too long ago that I’m dying to read Bloody Monday, and the only way I could do so was to purchase the manga itself. There were 2 options; Amazon Japan and Kinokuniya.

I did some calculations, and even if I get 2 to 3 people to share the cost of the standard book shipping fee, which is a flat 1900 yen, it’ll still be slightly more expensive to purchase the manga from Amazon Japan as compared to getting it directly from Kinokuniya, even with just the regular 10% member discount. It seems that Kinokuniya doesn’t adjust the prices of their stock even with the fluctuation of currency, and that’s a good thing in such times.

This was my final Purikura I took during my trip to Japan.

During my stay in Tokyo, I met up with Sakari and some of his friends for a day of fun around Shibuya and Harujuku. Along with him came 3 of his friends, 2 of which were exchange students like him, and the last one, a Japanese student whom he met at some school festival. I really envy them being exchange students as I would probably never get to the opportunity immerse myself in Japan for an extended period of time like what they are doing. At least not while I’m a student.

Somehow or another, I managed to catch Gurren Lagann on the silver screen while I was in Japan 2 weeks ago. Despite the movie tickets in Japan being crazily overpriced, I still went ahead with the movie even after I’ve already watched 20th Century Boys which life-drained a steep 1,500 yen out of my wallet.

I shall keep this review short and sweet, since there’s really not much difference from the movie and the anime series, except for the movie being much more compressed, and packing some really uber scenes.

I’ve already revealed the Ikari Shinji Cosplay, but since we were at a cosplay event in Harumi, there were other cosplays too. I must say, the level of cosplay at the event we attended was much higher than that of the events back home.

The past 16 days went by me so swiftly, it felt so surreal. Just slightly over 2 weeks ago, I was at this same desk, posting about heading off to Japan. Yet, in just a flash of an eye, I’m back here again, typing.

This round’s loot is pathetic. Really…

I attended a cosplay event today at Harumi, and there, the Evangelion Unit 01 pilot was spotted in his school uniform.

I visited Nagano today for a 1 day trip, and met up with some friends over there. It was more than normal that we took Purikura. Before this trip, the last time I took a Purikura was almost 8-10 years ago. Yet, I’ve broken the streak, with 2 Purikuras taken in less than 2 weeks.

After riding trains for almost 8 hours, I’ve finally made it from the south to Tokyo. The first thing I did after checking into the hostel was to head down to Akihabara for dinner and a little shopping. I had dinner, and literally did a little shopping.

I came back from Ooita not too long ago and had quite a ball of a time wandering around some areas. I didn’t do any research before heading out, so I just went to whatever places that I fancied while strolling along the streets. For once, not having any plans is a good thing, since it feels more like embarking on a short surprised-filled adventure.

Earlier this afternoon, I managed to catch the movie at the cinema in Canal City Hakata. I was actually planning to do a post on Ooita first, but it’ll be better if I did this first while it’s still fresh in my mind.
