BECK Live Action Movie?! HELL YEA!

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say this again. BECK is awesome; The anime is, and so is the manga. The music rocks, despite the Engrish. Ever since I watched the anime, I have always hoped for a live action adaptation of it, be it a movie or a drama series. Of course, a non-Hollywood adaptation.

I’m not one who likes to repost news that has been posted, but what the heck, this piece of news has gotten me hyped up! After the likes of trashy live actions that have been floating around, such as Hollywood’s Dragon “suckass” ball Evolution, as well as the heart-attack inducing news of the Full Metal Panic live action, we can still get good things from time to time.

And so, come Fall of 2010, a live action BECK movie will be released in Japan cinemas. Finally!

I Did Say I Want More Full Metal Panic, But…

NOT AN AMERICANISED LIVE ACTION MOVIE!!!

If this was a mirror image of the adaptation against the original, things would look ugly

If you’ve yet to notice, this site’s name’s a parody of Full Metal Panic, and that should drop the hint that I like FMP, A LOT. Hence, news of a live action movie adaptation of one of my all-time favourite series by Holly-screwy-wood is definitely horrible news. This was definitely not I was hoping for while I read the 10th volume of FMP Sigma on the train this morning.

Detroit Metal City: The Movie

I could have caught the movie much earlier last year, but I chose the Gurren Lagann movie over this. It’s not like I’m regretting my choice though, since both movies have their own strengths.

甘い甘い甘い甘い~ 恋人~!

Without a doubt, the DMC movie is entertaining. Needless to say, anyone who has been reading the manga, or watching the OVAs would be cackling away throughout the duration of this film. Even for those who have yet to be introduced to DMC through other mediums, the movie would still prove to be great humour material.

Adaptations From Another Perspective

I’ve finally caught up with Bloody Monday, at least till the latest tankoubon release. Book 8’s going to be out real soon, in probably a week or 2.  I think I should really begin reading the weekly chapter releases in Shonen Magazine after completing book 8. Meanwhile, it’s a good thing the drama’s ongoing and the end doesn’t appear anytime soon. This means I’ll still get my continual weekly dosage of hacking and action scenes.

Anyway, I’ve finally understood why I didn’t enjoy the previous episode as much as I should have. I’ve was trying too hard in my comparison between every single thing in the drama and the manga.

Bloody Monday Episode 4 Was A Bore

As much as I’m in love with the series, I can’t help but frankly admit that episode 4 was the most boring episode as of yet. While the past 3 episodes have been decently on par, if not slightly more interesting than the original manga, this episode was sub-par.

To begin, the action only consisted in the shooting of guns and some scuffling around. This means that hacking was totally absent in this episode. I mentioned before that the main motivation for me to watch this was the hacking. The hacking scenes are precisely why Bloody Monday is one of a kind. If I just wanted fights, guns and mind games, I would just go watch movies such as Infernal Affairs instead.
