I’ve finally caught up with Bloody Monday, at least till the latest tankoubon release. Book 8’s going to be out real soon, in probably a week or 2. I think I should really begin reading the weekly chapter releases in Shonen Magazine after completing book 8. Meanwhile, it’s a good thing the drama’s ongoing and the end doesn’t appear anytime soon. This means I’ll still get my continual weekly dosage of hacking and action scenes.

Anyway, I’ve finally understood why I didn’t enjoy the previous episode as much as I should have. I’ve was trying too hard in my comparison between every single thing in the drama and the manga.

As much as I’m in love with the series, I can’t help but frankly admit that episode 4 was the most boring episode as of yet. While the past 3 episodes have been decently on par, if not slightly more interesting than the original manga, this episode was sub-par.

To begin, the action only consisted in the shooting of guns and some scuffling around. This means that hacking was totally absent in this episode. I mentioned before that the main motivation for me to watch this was the hacking. The hacking scenes are precisely why Bloody Monday is one of a kind. If I just wanted fights, guns and mind games, I would just go watch movies such as Infernal Affairs instead.

I stumbled upon the currently airing Bloody Monday Jdorama while surfing the net, and after reading the summary, I knew that I just had to watch it. I only need one reason to justify why I should.
Hacking.

I must be lagging, since I only came to know about this piece of news at Canned Dogs almost 2 weeks after the post was up. When I read the title of the post, I wanted to rejoice over news of the movie. After all, I loved the anime.
Then I continued on to read the content. Instantly, a “WTF?!” slipped out. I sense eminent failure straight ahead, and for that, I shall weep buckets of Kaiji tears.

No kidding me. Fujiwara Tatsuya, also commonly known as Light, as Kaiji. Why, oh WHY?!?!

I took up Mark’s suggestion that if I love mystery manga, I should get started on 20th Century Boys, and ended up reading both 20th and 21st Century Boys over last Friday and Saturday. I was hooked on some sort of spiritual drug.

The series is exactly like a rollercoaster ride. It’s thrilling, and it keeps you wanting to come back for more. With every twist, turn and rush giving the reader a new-found sense of adrenaline. Never at one point of time did a sense of boredom linger within me. It was always the thought of “What’s going to happen next? I MUST READ ON!” that kept flowing through my mind as each chapter passed.

After watching the first 2 episodes of Honey and Clover’s dorama, I must say I quite hooked to it. I don’t know how much the dorama differs from the anime or live action movie, since I have not watched either of them. Hence, I am unable to comment on how awesome/sucky the dorama is compared to the other 2. However, I do know a beauty, be it 2D or 3D, when I see one.

No one blogs about Detective Conan. Or at least no one whom I know. Everyone probably thinks that Detective Conan is just another typical shonen anime/manga series which is not worth paying any attention to. But not me. I think it’s awesome.
Anyway first piece of news about Detective Conan is the 12th Movie. For the benefit of those who don’t know, there’s a Detective Conan movie release annually in April, sometime during the Golden Week period. That’s quite a long way Detective Conan has gone, isn’t it?
The title of this 12th theatrical feature is 「戦慄の楽譜」, with 楽譜 read as フルスコア. The English translation would be “Full Score of Fear”. The release date of the movie can be seen after the break.
