Every anime fan definitely wants more budget for his/her anime spendings. I am no exception. Yet, we often lament that we lack the cash to increase our budget.
Hence, I have come with a brief simple guide. Please note that this is not a guide on how to increase your income, but how to make do with what you currently have and increase your budget for a certain spending channel, which in this case, the channel can be generally classified as “Otaku”.
All the points mentioned below are common sense, but it seems that sometimes people, including me, lack it.

I’m sure everyone has changed in a way or another after starting to watch anime, be it in major or minor ways.
Here are some personal examples of how anime can change a person’s way of thinking/doing things:
Transport
You think that taking the bus home for 50 cents is a waste of money, since you can walk. 50 cents a day means $15 a month and $180 and year and…. Yea, you get what I’m saying. Imagine the stuff you can buy by just walking anyway! And you can delude yourself into think that walking is an extremely healthy activity, and buses are for lazy people.
But, your mindset totally changes when you have a figurine or some posters with you. Bus rides are a must so that you can migitate the risk of your loot being damaged. Plus, you want the fastest way home so that you can unwrap your goodies.

Even before Gurren Lagann ended, I have always wanted to get the original limited edition R2 DVDs. When I went to Akihabara last money, the son-of-a-gun shopkeeper refused to sell me the DVDs as he kept insisting that I did not understand Japanese and hence was not suitable for purchasing them. That arsehole. He pissed me off, that bastard.
After that, I decided to order online, and unfortunately, they were all out of stock. All 3 volumes that have currently been released are totally sold out. The only way of getting them? Yahoo Japan Auctions. Shipping’s not cheap, and the Japanese are crazy people when it comes to bidding on auctions. Hence, my chances of getting them at an acceptable price are pretty low.
The DVDs are awesome looking, especially volume 2, which comes together with the box to contain till volume 4.

It has become some kind of a (negative) habit for me to buy at least something anime related every weekend. I guess that why my savings are getting drained slowly as each week passes.
I was determined to end my spending habits this weekend,but it seemed that I succumbed to temptation. All thanks to the 20% Kinokuniya sales at Liang Court.
