At long last, I finally get my hands on my very own ARX-8. I’d very much prefer a life-sized, fully functional ARX-8, but sadly, it exists only in my imagination, so I think I should just settle for the action figurine model instead.

So, why is the ARX-8 so awesome? Let’s overlook the fact that its arsenal consists of the lambda driver, the 65mm Multi-purpose Demolition Howitzer and a few other weapons that would instill fear in the hearts of even its bravest foes.

It’s finally out. After months and months of waiting, Revoltech has finally announced an official date for the Laevatein’s release! 15 August!!! You can check out the details at Amiami.

Never have I wanted an action figure so badly, but this is the FREAKING ARX-8, so I suppose I can!

Looks like this action figure came in early. It was supposed to be officially released on the day that marks the start of 2008, but I was rather delighted that it came just before Christmas. Not that I celebrate Christmas anyway…
Activity: Count the number of Reis in the photo below

No I didn’t buy 2. This image is photoshopped.
With my camera back to my side, I decided to take a few shots.
Enjoy this unprofessional review. Please refrain from clawing your eyes out because of the poor quality photos.
Of course, the caption for the photo above is a true as describing Shinji as a courageous young man who doesn’t fap to unconscious orange-haired tsunderes.

Looks like there’s another Revoltech release to look forward to. Recently, at the Revoltech Expo, this was one of the new prototypes showcased. I did not realise that Laevatein was at featured at the Expo until someone in IRC mentioned it.

Even though the current prototype is not coloured, it already looks awesome. Looks like this would be another must-buy Revoltech Figurine, like Ayanami Rei and Gurren Lagann.
There is currently no official release date for Laevatein, but my guess is some time around May or June.
Full Metal Panic Armslaves seriously need more mecha love. There are only extinct trading figurines of some of the Armslaves, and no official statement on the 1/60 scaled versions. Hopefully, Alter would surprise us with the long awaited announcement. And even if they fail to do so, I do hope that Revoltech continues to complete all the Armslaves. Especially ARX-7 and M9.

Revoltech, Figma, MMS, Impact Model and some other obscure brands. It seems that action figurines are quite the craze. Indeed, there is a wide array of brands to choose from. Hence, most people would probably just go for the brand which produces the characters that they like. The same goes for me. After all, as long as the action figurine looks good, and the price is right, there’s a high chance for it to be popular.
One flaw about action figurines, however, are the joints. Human action figurines with joints aren’t exactly the most pleasant looking things. For example, the Yoko on MMS and the figma Nagato Yuki. The Revoltech Revy had ugly joints too, but her weapons were rather cool.
On the other hand, joints are able to portray the realism of the mecha action figurines. After all, it’s the joints that make the figurines look like the real thing. Plus, you can fiddle around with it, unlike a scaled figurine.
I think I should get on with my opinions on the various action figure brands.
